Myself and a friend arrived at open and were greeted with a lovely smile from our server who went above and beyond for us. We were "unlucky" in the fact that we were there when the deep fryer broke. We had their pan fried fries that were crisp and seasoned deliciously, the Cajun chicken sandwich and the steak sandwich; all were very tasty and cooked really well. The Cajun chicken sandwich was my personal favorite. Would recommend to anyone looking for lunch. Excited to go back for supper.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. It’s small and super cozy. Being there reminded me visiting France, made me feel I’m in a restaurant in Europe. Wonderful atmosphere, attentive staff, and very delicious food.

The food is good but not great. We orders the Oliver Salad, which was by far the best thing we ordered and it is a great salad that we shared. We ordered the Korean Duck Wings. This is a dish orders might think is unique and great tasting. It did not taste like duck, the BBQ sauce slightly overwhelmed the duck taste. We shared the Seafood Platter for a main course. It was average with the scallops overcooked. Many menu items are ambitious so would I come back? Yes I would but without improvement, no more for me. The service here is excellent among the best we had in NL.

Great place for a nice meal in downtown St John’s. Street parking is free after 6:00 if you can find a spot nearby. The food is fantastic and the restaurant itself is quite small and cozy. Make a reservation as this place gets a lot of attention from local regulars and travelling tourists alike. And if you are only a table for 2-3 then you can get the one right in the window if you don’t mind being right beside the main door. Our server Tracy made our dinner there pretty special.

We had the best dinner to celebrate our friend’s birthday at Oliver’s Restaurant. We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, washroom was clean, and the music was very pleasant. The service was excellent, our server Cecilia was super sweet, very friendly and knowledgeable. We definitely had the best moment because of her, and she was the only server bartender, and we never felt that we were missing attention even if the place was half full. Now the food, it was just delicious, we ordered: - Lemon pepper Calamari - Local Mussels - Seafood platter - Balsamic chicken fettuccine - a Daily special that was a halibut on top of risotto with Brie cheese, so delicious! All the food was amazing, we shared all for 4 people and we were more than full. The table favourites were the risotto and the fettuccine. Also bread and maple butter was provided and was perfect, warm and whipped butter on a fresh baguette, yummy ! We also received a special dessert to celebrate our friend birthday and we were so amazing about the amazing chocolate brownie and the caramel cheesecake, we will definitely come back for more !

My wife and I spent the weekend in St. John's. Normally we'd only visit a restaurant once (when there are many other promising choices, as there are in downtown St. John's) but we were so impressed with our first visit on Saturday that we returned on Sunday before we flew home. The food was first-rate (the calamari, a couple of excellent soups and cod dishes in particular), the service relaxed and friendly, and the cost reasonable. We will definitely return on our next visit to St. John's.

This was my first visit to St. John's, and I had a great experience at Oliver's restaurant! I tried the Creole chicken sandwich, which was delicious. Cici, who served me, was very polite and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this spot for a quiet and relaxing lunch.
